the chapel of Our Lady of Montserrat
... first mentionned in 1674. renovated in 1844 and 1997...
... the chapel suffered much damage by the french army
during the French Revolution.
Marquis Albert de Beauffort renovated the chapel.
The duke of Beauffort installed an exact copy
of the Virgin of Montserrat in 1955
(blessed by the prelate of Montserrat, Spain).
In 1993 the statue of the Virgin was stolen.
The following year the parishioners went to Spain
and installed a new copy of the Black Madonna
from Montserrat in the chapel.

Virgin of Montserrat ... (EN)
... is a statue of the Virgin Mary and infant Christ venerated at
the Santa Maria de Montserrat monastery in the Montserrat mountain
in Catalonia. It is one of the black Madonnas of Europe, hence its
familiar Catalan name, la Moreneta ("The little dark-skinned one").
Believed by some to have been carved in Jerusalem in the early days
of the church, it is a Romanesque sculpture in wood
from the late 12th century .
